Lomondgate Services, on the A82 at Dumbarton, is fast becoming established as a natural gateway to world-famous Loch Lomond. Whitbread has recently completed a near doubling in size of its Premier Inn hotel – from 60 to 114 bedrooms – adding to a line-up which includes Euro Garages’ first new to market service station north of the border, Scotland’s first Costa drive-thru and the one-off Jaconelli’s Fish Diner. It is independently estimated that Lomondgate Services is already attracting over 1.7 million visitors per annum and that’s before development of the remaining 2.5 acre site being marketed by Cushman & Wakefield, which the Lomondgate partners – Walker Group and Strathleven Regeneration – believe is the best opportunity for visitor-orientated commercial development in Scotland.
With access from both carriageways of the A82 via the Lomondgate Roundabout – at which over 11 million vehicles arrive annually – Lomondgate Services is one component of the award-winning Lomondgate mixed development which is home to world-class occupiers, Aggreko and the BBC.Agents Rosslyn Property are now seeking an anchor occupier for Lomondgate Park – a high profile 20 acre strategic site with A82 frontage - and its credentials as a business location have been further enhanced with the announcement that Chivas Brothers (the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard) is to invest £40 million in a state of the art facility at its adjacent plant.
Residential development at Lomondgate is moving quickly towards completion following Taylor Wimpey’s recent acquisition of the final housing site. Like Whitbread, fellow FTSE 100 company Taylor Wimpey is a Lomondgate developer hungry for more following initial success – this will be an addition to Taylor Wimpey’s ‘Fairways’ development and the 58 proposed houses will bring the total number of new homes at Lomondgate to over 400.
